Dutch company acquires Telnicity

Oklahoma City-based telecommunications company Telnicity LLC is being acquired by Elephant Talk Communications Corp., the companies announced Wednesday. The Dutch company is looking to enter the U.S. telecommunications market. Elephant Talk is an international provider of software and services developed to manage network, billing and systems infrastructure. The estimated $1 million deal to acquire Telnicity, which has developed a billing system that enables any company to become a sophisticated reseller of communication services and mobile commerce. “Telnicity's relationships with several North American based telecommunications companies provide a head start for the launch of Elephant Talk's services into the U.S. mobile telecommunication market,” CEO Steven van der Velden said. “In addition, Telnicity's existing customer base will be able to leverage Elephant Talk's technology and telecommunications relationships to offer more complete international calling and roaming packages.”
