Oklahoma State men's basketball notebook: Travis Ford finds few positives in win

Cowboys coach Travis Ford found himself struggling to produce positives in OSU's 63-45 win over TCU, other than the obvious — the win — of course.

“Happy with the win, we'll take it,” Ford said, “but I wasn't really excited about our performance. I didn't think we played with the intensity level you have to play with for the first time all year long.”

Most distressing to Ford: a season-worst 24 turnovers, a product of a ragged game that sniffed of two teams fully knowing the verdict early on.

“We've been leading the league in assist-turnover margin,” Ford said. “I'm sure that will change after tonight.”

COWBOYS REMEMBER PATSY SUTTON

In a nod to Patsy Sutton, the matriarch of the Sutton basketball family who died Tuesday in Tulsa, OSU made several gestures during its game with TCU.

Before tip, there was a moment of silence in remembrance of Patsy, the wife of former Cowboys coach Eddie Sutton and the mother of former OSU players Sean and Scott, as well as Tulsa banker Steve.

The players wore patches on their jerseys, with her name featured in an interlocking orange ribbon. And the coaches' wives, as well as the Spurs spirit group, wore white roses.

TCU COACH RECOGNIZES BROWN'S IMPROVEMENT

While coaching at LSU, Trent Johnson was well aware of Markel Brown.
