STILLWATER (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a van carrying Puerto Rican prison officials to the Cimarron Prison Facility in Cushing was involved in a two-vehicle collision that killed three people.

Trooper Betsy Randolph says a vehicle driving on the wrong side of Oklahoma 177 collided with the van about 5 a.m. Thursday between Stillwater and Perkins. Randolph said both drivers and a passenger in the van were killed and two others in the van were taken to a Stillwater hospital.

No names have been released.

The medium-security prison owned by Corrections Corporation of America has a contract with the Puerto Rico Department of Corrections. CCA spokesman Steve Owen said the Puerto Rican officials were an extradition team going to pick up an inmate or inmates being released from the prison.
