UPDATE: High wind warnings Friday and weekend snow possible in Oklahoma

A windy and warm Friday will give way to more wintry weather by Saturday night in Oklahoma. The high temperature Friday will be near 67 degrees, then a slight chance for snow Saturday night in central Oklahoma is in the forecast.

6:25 a.m. Wind warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service Friday morning. A wind advisory is in effect for central Oklahoma from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday as gusts up to 45 mph are possible. In northwest Oklahoma and the Panhandle, a high wind warning is in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday as wind gusts could be near 60 mph in those parts of the state, the weather service reports.

5:30 a.m. Windy, warm weather is in the Friday forecast for central Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

Winds could gust up to 40 mph with temperatures near 67 degrees.

Then Saturday night there is a chance for snow as temperatures drop.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 67. Windy with a south wind 16 to 21 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 38. South wind 15 to 20 mph becoming northwest 9 to 14 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny with a high near 46. North wind 11 to 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturday night: A slight chance of rain and snow showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy with a low around 23. North wind 16 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 37. North wind 13 to 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly clear with a low around 18.

Monday: Partly sunny with a high near 37.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 20.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 40.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 25.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 49.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 32.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny with a high near 49.
