Put the responsibility where it belongs

The gun is an inanimate object. It can lay on a table, a workbench or the seat of a vehicle and never by itself get up, load its magazine and pull its trigger. It takes a human being to provide that function. The responsibility alone belongs to the person who uses the gun. Any stricter laws should be aimed at that person. For example, a minimum 10-year jail sentence for any person using a gun in the commission of a crime. If a person is killed by a gun during the commission of a crime, the felon responsible gets an automatic death penalty. The penalty should be carried out within one year from the date of conviction. Let's put the responsibility where it belongs and not take away the rights of the legal gun owners.
