These Scriptures are among the biblical passages that several Oklahoma Christians cited as their reasons for opposing abortion:

Psalm 139:13

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.”

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Genesis 1:27

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Exodus 4:11

“The LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD?”

Job 1:21

“... and said ‘Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.'”

Romans 9:20

“But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?'”
