Rebuilding Together OKC is helping to repair a targeted neighborhood during the National Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps MLK Work Week.

As the event continues through Sunday, Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps members are gathered from across the country to help rebuild an Oklahoma City neighborhood, according to a news release.

Each year the CapacityCorps, made up of full-time AmeriCorps members, travels to one metro area in the United States to perform home repairs in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

Volunteers are spending the week in the Carverdale-Edwards-South Creston Hills area. The C-E-C triangle is a historic area on the northeast side. The plan is to repair and remodel 10 homes.

Joining the CapacityCorps members are youths from local high schools, Rebuilding Together volunteers and members of the Carverdale-Edwards-South Creston Hills community.
