It hasn't been often this season that all three of Southmoore's outside shooters have been on in the same game.

Thursday night, though, Cyndi Campbell, Kyra Gilbert and Kayla Tucker were each hitting from deep and the result was a 68-46 win over Lawton in the opening round of the John Nobles Invitational Tournament at Moore High.

The SaberCats hit nine 3-pointers combined, all but one coming from the trio as Class 6A No. 4 Southmoore advanced to play Choctaw at 7 p.m. Friday in the semifinals.

“We've had a lot of games when two of us were hitting but not many like that when we're all hitting those shots,” Tucker said. “When that's happening, we're very dangerous.”

Choctaw needed double overtime to beat Tahlequah 65-60 in its opening-round game.

Four Southmoore starters finished in double figures, with Tucker leading the way with 15.

Campbell added 13, Serithia Hawkins 12 and Gilbert 11.

When Southmoore missed, it dominated on the boards, outrebounding the Wolverines 39-27.

Hawkins had 15 rebounds, including seven in the first quarter.

“Rebounding is key for us,” Southmoore coach Britney Kannady-Sayes said. “We came in on a bit of shooting slump from the other night so we knew we had to rebound well.

“We snapped out of that slump a bit though.”

CLARK DOMINANT FOR DALE

Dale's Breck Clark outscored Class A No. 18 Davenport by herself, scoring 31 points in the Pirates' 61-21 blowout to advance to the finals of the Tri-County Tournament at Oklahoma Baptist.

“We got off to kind of a slow start early and she kind of got us going in the second quarter,” Dale coach Josh Forsythe said. “She was really attacking the basket.”

Clark was 12 of 14 from the free-throw line.
