OKC Barons add goaltender

Niko Hovinen sent to Oklahoma City by Edmonton Oilers. Hovinen claimed off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Edmonton Oilers, parent club for the Barons, claimed goaltender Niko Hovinen off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers and assigned him to Oklahoma City.

Hovinen was a fifth-round draft pick of the Minnesota Wild in 2006. The 6-foot-7, 200-pounder played five years in his native Finland before spending part of this season with the Trenton Titans in the East Coast Hockey League.

Hovinen, 24, posted a 4-6-3 record with a 3.14 goals against average and 88.9 save percentage with Trenton.
