Oklahoma State football: Cowboys defensive lineman Christian Littlehead confirms intent to transfer

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State defensive tackle Christian Littlehead intends to transfer to another school, he posted on his Twitter account Tuesday morning.

“I will be transferring at the end of the semester,” the tweet said. “I am thankful for everyone that I have met at OSU and the time I spent here.”

OSU sideline reporter Robert Allen first reported Monday that Littlehead had left the Cowboy football program. As of Tuesday morning, Littlehead was still listed on OSU's official online roster and in the school's directory.

Littlehead, a rising junior, was a part-time starter in 2011 but had slipped to third on the depth chart this past season after the emergence of Calvin Barnett, the Big 12's Defensive Newcomer of the Year, and James Castleman at the position. He played in eight games in 2012 and recorded four tackles.

Littlehead, a Tahlequah Sequoyah product, had also had multiple run-ins with the law during his time at OSU.

In December of 2011, he pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, a charge that was dismissed by the state in September after he completed a six-month probation. In May, he was arrested in Tahlequah on a public intoxication complaint. Then in August, he was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, which was dropped after the case was dismissed by the state.

In 2013, Barnett and Castleman both return at defensive tackle, as well as backups Anthony Rogers and Davidell Collins.
