During a visit to Oklahoma State on Wednesday night, Bowlsby told reporters the league “probably will” ask for a waiver from the NCAA to bend the rules. As he has done repeatedly, Bowlsby reiterated the league is comfortable with 10 members. One casualty of the departure of schools leaving the Big 12 as a 10-team league was the conference championship game, which hasn't been held the past two seasons.

Bowlsby says he considers it odd that as the NCAA is deregulating it would dictate how conferences crown their champions.
