Helping Egypt no longer in our best interest

Why would the United States send 20 fighter planes and 200 armored tanks to Egypt? I know there was a promise of such donations in 2010 to Hosni Mubarak, but it's now 2013 and Egypt has an elected president, Mohammed Morsi, who's a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, which has overtaken Egypt's leadership. If an Israeli leader had said some of the things similar in tone to those attributed to Morsi, there would be heated outcries from all sorts of sources. But it seems that the world is either in favor of radical Islamist policies or that everyone is afraid of standing up to their hatred for fear of retaliation by the radical jihadists.

I would expect better of our government, but this administration has indicated time after time its stand with Islamists and against Israel (and even our own best interests). When our own military is facing crippling financial cuts, how can we even entertain thoughts of arming a government which is outspokenly opposed to us?
