Del City man named to hall of fame

— The Del City Chamber of Commerce has named Norris Price as the 2013 inductee into the Del City Hall of Fame.

Former Gov. George Nigh will make the presentation at the awards banquet Thursday at the Del City Community Center.

Price was born in Hallett and graduated from Eufaula High School in 1949. He lettered in football four years, played basketball and was a Golden Glove boxer and senior class president.

He attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, punctuated by a tour of duty in Korea with the M Company, Infantry of the 45th Division. He was vice president of Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity at NEU and president of the junior class.

He and his wife, Betty, were married in 1954. They moved to Del City that year. They had three children; Lisa, Randy (deceased) and George.

Price graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a business management degree. He has been a real estate appraiser, salesman, broker and property manager. He has been a homebuilder in Del City and developed neighborhoods such as Blackjack Ridge in Oklahoma City.
