A senior student at U.S. Grant High School was arrested Monday morning after driving into the back of the school.

Luis Chavez, 18, was arrested on complaints of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of marijuana, as well as some traffic violations, Oklahoma City police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

Chavez was parked about 7:35 a.m. Monday at the school, 5016 S Pennsylvania Ave. He put his car into drive, drove over a curb and through a median and then coasted into the building, Wardlow said.

No one was hurt, said Tierney Tinnin, a spokeswoman for Oklahoma City Public Schools.

The vehicle hit the back of the school, but the building was not damaged, Tinnin said.
