OKLAHOMA CITY

Man injured in shooting

A man shot outside a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex Tuesday afternoon was in critical condition, police report. Spencer Davis, 20, was shot about 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Britton Courtyard Apartments, 7000 W Britton Road. He was taken to the hospital for surgery. Police said they think two men were trying to rob the man and shot him after a struggle. Police were searching for two black males, who were last seen running from the scene. The apartment complex is adjacent to Putnam City's Wiley Post Elementary School. District spokesman Steve Lindley said the school went on lockdown for a brief time, but reopened quickly. No children were harmed.

STIGLER

Sentence set in slayings

A Haskell County man was given two life sentences with the chance of parole in connection with the fatal shooting of his stepfather and the wounding of his mother, court officials said Tuesday. Joshua Allen Bowen, 20, of Stigler pleaded guilty Monday in Haskell County District Court to first-degree murder and with shooting with intent to kill. Both sentences are to run concurrently, the district attorney's office confirmed. His trial was to begin on Monday. Bowen used a 22-caliber pistol to shoot Herbert Wayne Moore, 79, several times, and to shoot his mother, Vickie Moore, once in the head, according to an arrest affidavit.
