Cypress Ranch running back Keith Ford said his parents comfort with the University of Oklahoma played a big role in why he signed with the Sooners.

"I just felt a lot from the coaches and you have to have that if you’re going to stay somewhere," Ford told the Houston Chronicle. "You have to be comfortable and both my parents are comfortable. So that was a big factor – my parents being comfortable in where I’ll be going to school.

Ford said his first contact with Sooner coaches at an OU camp made a favorable impression from the start.

"I went up there for a camp and just the way they were coaching – very energetic and it just made me want to work," he said, "I liked that. I’ve been to all these other schools they were, ‘Oh, we send these people to the draft.’ and this and that. I felt that sometimes they weren’t telling me the truth."
