High school notebook: Star Spencer to honor Dunjee on Monday

The girls game will begin at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow at 7:30.

GARRICK MCGEE TARGETS ALMA MATER

Alabama-Birmingham football coach Garrick McGee went back to familiar grounds for two of his final recruits for the 2013 class, picking up two late commitments from Tulsa Washington.

McGee starred for the Hornets before going to Oklahoma.

McGee first got a commitment from safety Tajh Lowe, then got a commitment Monday night from cornerback James Caligone.

Hornets coach Marvin Dantzler was thrilled to have McGee recruiting his players.

“I think Garrick's going to be a great job down there,” Dantzler said. “His resume speaks for itself. We've got some guys that can definitely play and hopefully he'll keep recruiting them.

“A lot of our kids know Garrick and what he did here.”

LEXINGTON'S FOREHAND SCORES 44

Lexington's Chad Forehand celebrated his school's homecoming game with a special performance.

Forehand poured in 44 points as Lexington defeated Luther 77-66 on Tuesday night.

Lexington (15-5) is ranked No. 20 in Class 3A with two games remaining in the regular season.

BLUMENTHAL HEADS TO BUTLER WITH CHIP ON SHOULDER

Deer Creek quarterback Joel Blumenthal signed his letter of intent with Butler County Community College (Kan.) with the idea of later becoming a Division I quarterback.
