A look back at the ‘Alternate Crop’

If you haven’t visited the Alternate Crop blog recently, you should know you’ve missed quite a bit of great stuff. And now that the Oklahoma City Thunder season is over, it’s a nice time to look back and reflect on the work The Oklahoman photographers put in during the long playoff run.

Photographer John Clanton posted a very interesting blog post on the Alternate Crop blog a couple of weeks ago. The title says it all: “Three photographers and thousands of Thunder pictures.” It’s fascinating to learn how they do their work.

I would rank our photographers’ work on a daily basis favorably against any group in the country. They are all true professionals. We already knew that, but this post is further proof. Think about the hours of set-up and preparation to get all the remote cameras in place and operational. Then, think about the editing process once the images are captured.

I declare today, “Give-a-photographer-a-hearty-handshake day.”
