The Norman Public Library will commemorate Black History Month with the ninth annual Crowns Tea on Feb. 24.

Seatings will be offered at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in the Lowry Room at the library, 225 N Webster Ave.

The Crowns Tea is based on the photo essay “Crowns: Portraits of Black Women in Church Hats,” which celebrates the tradition of the church hat. Guests are encouraged to wear their Sunday best, including hats.

Tickets to the tea are free but must be picked up at the library or reserved in advance. This year's event will be catered by Legends of Norman.

The tea is sponsored annually by Friends of the Norman Library and the Pioneer Library System. To reserve a ticket, call 701-2600.
