ACHILLE -- The police chief was fired, so the mayor quit. The townsfolk weren't happy. So when it appears the chief will be resinstated, the mayor says he'll withdraw his resignation. But the Durant Daily Democrat says the Achille town council terminated the chief Tuesday night, prompting all but one of his officers to quit. The saga continues.
