Women arrested in man's death
Two Oklahoma City women have been arrested in connection with the death of a Lindsay man, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations reported Friday. Authorities discovered the body of Nathan Dale Blankenship, 32, Thursday in Seminole County. Blankenship had been missing since Feb. 2. Agents arrested Jessica Cornwell, 33, and Adena Beasley, 32, on felony charges in the unauthorized removal of a dead body, according to an OSBI news release. Agents are investigating the case as a homicide. Court records show that Beasley has several charges in Garvin, Grady and McClain counties. They include grand larceny in 2005, stalking in 2003, and drug possession charges in 2003 and 2005. An initial search through the Oklahoma State Courts Network, state Department of Corrections and On Demand Court Records did not show any convictions for Cornwell.
McALESTER
Prison escapee
is recaptured
State prison officials said Friday an escapee from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester has been recaptured in Tulsa. Chief of Security Rick Caywood said Kenneth Hammick II, 27, was found and arrested late Thursday afternoon. Investigators are trying to determine who gave Hammick a ride to Tulsa — about 90 miles north of McAlester. Caywood said Hammick disappeared Thursday sometime between the 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. head counts of inmates. Details of how he's believed to have escaped have not been released. The Department of Corrections website shows Hammick was serving a four-year sentence for a 2011 drug conviction in Cherokee County. He faces a felony escape charge in Pittsburg County.
