School band concert set

The Norman Public Schools Band Department will present the eighth annual Robert Cason Memorial Percussion Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Nancy O'Brian Performing Arts Center, 1809 Stubbeman Ave. The concert will feature middle and high school percussion students, as well as special guests from the University of Oklahoma Percussion Studio. The free concert is named in honor of Cason, who was a percussion instructor and band director in Norman for many years.

Small business course planned

The Oklahoma Small Business Development Center will hold a Business Basics 101 course from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Norman Economic Development Center's eTec2 building, 3209 N Flood Ave. Cost is $49 and comes with professional one-on-one counseling about starting or growing a small business. Dance meditation session scheduled

“Dance Meditation,” a moving form of meditation, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the West Wind Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 1309 W Boyd St. A $5 donation is requested for admission. Meditative dance combines the beauty and freedom of dance with the calming benefits of meditation. No experience is necessary. For more information, call Susan Cogan at 226-9712.
