UPDATE: Snowfall leads to falls, accidents in Oklahoma City

Forecast calls for more precipitation Wednesday night in central Oklahoma.

2:20 p.m. Emergency Medical Services Authority personnel responded to multiple weather-related calls from midnight to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, EMSA spokeswoman Lara O'Leary said.

EMSA responded to 10 falls. Seven of the 10 people were taken to a hospital. One person with cold exposure was taken to a hospital.

EMSA responded to six motor vehicle accidents and took one person to a hospital, O'Leary said.

8:45 a.m. Heavy snow is falling in Pauls Valley with 2 inches of accumulation so far, the National Weather Service in Norman is reporting.

6:40 a.m. Snow is accumulating across the Oklahoma City area Wednesday morning. Light snow is falling as temperatures are dropping, the National Weather Service reports. The temperature is 34 degrees as a winter weather system settles into central Oklahoma. Check back to NewsOK.com for weather updates.

4:30 a.m. Snow is not expected to accumulate much in central Oklahoma Wednesday.

But rainfall is expected through Wednesday night, the National Weather Service reports. Snow and rain has been falling in parts of the Oklahoma City area Wednesday morning.

Northern parts of Oklahoma are under a winter storm warning until noon Thursday.

Central Oklahoma and northern Oklahoma are under a winter weather advisory until noon Thursday. Snow and sleet are possible Thursday morning, the weather service reports.
