Oklahoma Christian University sets performance of 'Doubt: A Parable'

The Oklahoma Christian University's theater department is performing the drama “Doubt: A Parable” Saturday and March 1-2 on the OC campus, 2501 E Memorial Road.

The Oklahoma Christian University theater department's performances of the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama “Doubt: A Parable” will continue Saturday and March 1-2 on the OC campus, 2501 E Memorial Road.

The performances begin at 8 p.m. in Judd Theatre in OC's Garvey Center.

“Doubt” is set in 1964 in a Catholic school and church in the Bronx, New York. In this story, Sister Aloysius Beauvier must take matters into her own hands when she suspects a priest of abusing a student. The cast includes OC senior Hannah Faye Foster as Sister Beauvier, freshman A.J. Leingang as Father Brendan Flynn, sophomore Sandra Peck as Sister James, and sophomore Tiffany Evans as Mrs. Mueller. Directing the production is Phil Reagan, theater department chair and sponsor of Alpha Psi Omega, OC's chapter of the National Theatre Honor Society.

This also is professor emeritus Darrel Alexander's last time to serve as costume director. Alexander, who has been costuming productions at Oklahoma Christian since 1966, is retiring this year. He came to Oklahoma Christian in 1962 and retired from full-time teaching in 1996.

“Doubt” is suitable for audiences ages 12 and up.
