Groundbreaking scheduled
MIDWEST CITY — The Midwest City Veterans Memorial will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 9 a.m. Friday at the southeast corner of Joe Barnes Regional Park on S Douglas Boulevard. Organizers have raised more than $200,000 for the project.
Pancakes, fishing on tap in Yukon
YUKON — The Yukon Rotary Club will hold its 46th annual pancake day Saturday at the Robertson Activity Center, 1200 Lakeshore Drive. Festivities will run from 7 to 11 a.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children younger than 12 and free for children younger than 3. There also will be a raffle for an iPad. The Yukon Parks and Recreation Department will host its Big Trout Fish Out from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the same location. Poles will be available, and fish will be cleaned for $1 per fish. Bird conservation seminar offered
NestWatch is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Martin Park Nature Center, 5000 W Memorial Road. Participants will learn to properly monitor bird nests and contribute toward the conservation and study of birds.
