Man charged in shooting

Oklahoma County prosecutors filed a first-degree murder charge Thursday against the father-in-law of a man who was shot and killed during a domestic dispute. Michael Scott Elder, 53, is accused of killing Gary Davidson, 27. Police found Davidson dead about 5:45 p.m. Feb. 20 at the scene of a shooting at 2701 NW 12. According to a probable cause affidavit, Davidson and Elder’s daughter were fighting for control of the couple’s moving truck when Elder ran up next to the vehicle and fired one shot. The couple was separated and in the process of getting a divorce, police reported.
