Fabian Castro heard the woman next door screaming, then a neighbor pounding on his door.

Castro rushed his wife and four young children outside in the chill to see a travel trailer parked in the driveway next door in flames — a “big fire,” he said.

Authorities said one person was killed in the fire shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday in the 3100 block of NW 28 in Oklahoma City.

The name of the victim was not released Saturday.

Castro said the trailer had been parked in the driveway about a week.

An extension cord running from inside the house led him to think someone was living inside.

Castro said a neighbor across the street took in his wife and children.

Flames from the fire burned one side of his house and damaged his green Ford Explorer.

His family was at the home Saturday afternoon cleaning up but cannot live there.

Castro said he was thankful for the Red Cross, which is paying for three nights in a motel.
