Oklahoma City firefighters fought a large warehouse fire Saturday evening at what used to be Buddy's Produce.
A large plume of billowing, black smoke could be seen for miles as it poured from the building at 1310 SW 2.
More than 50 firefighters fought the blaze that was reported about 6:20 p.m. Crews were able to get the fire contained shortly after 7 p.m.
Deputy Chief Marc Woodard said one firefighter was injured as a portion of the south wall fell on him.
“He said he was OK but we wanted him to get him checked out just in case,” Woodard said. “He's been taken to St. Anthony's as a precautionary measure.”
The cause of the fire was not immediately determined, and an estimate of the damage was not available.
Woodard said the building most likely is a total loss.
He said it will be a while before crews can get inside the building to investigate because the structure is not safe.
