A man and woman died in Sunday wrecks in northeast Oklahoma, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Roger Dale Jones, 62, Paris, Ark.

About 3 p.m., Jones was driving west on U.S. 412, about four miles west of Sand Springs in Tulsa County, when he suffered an apparent heart attack and the pickup drifted up against the cable barrier in the center median, troopers said.

Jones died at the scene. His 3-year-old granddaughter, who was riding in the pickup, was not hurt, troopers said.

Shelly D. Long, 46, Vinita

About 2:15 a.m., Long was driving south on a Craig County road three miles east and two miles south of Vinita. The car hit a guardrail and went off the bridge, landing upside down in a creek. Long was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, troopers said.

A passenger, Nolan R. Long, 22, of Vinita, was treated at the hospital for injuries. Both of the Longs were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
