Boot Camp day raises money for woman with cancer

There are lots of fundraisers out there to help out people who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses, but this one is so creative and cool. It’s a benefit boot camp.

That’s right – you are sweating your face off and helping someone who desperately needs it.

Stacey Slaton has Stage 4 liver and bile duct cancer and isn’t able to work right now. “She has an enormous heart and a warrior spirit,” a friend of hers said in an email, “and always put her family and community first.”

“Getting Fit 4 Stacey” is from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Fit-4-U Personal Training, 1201 NW 178, Suite 120, in Edmond. The 30-minute boot camp sessions are free, but donations are (of course!) accepted. The event includes food, music, a kids area and boot camps throughout the morning. If you don’t want to work out, that’s OK, too. There’s a silent auciton and other fun stuff.
