Golf in the nude

We get a lot of calls in the newsroom. Many are legitimate. A few are ridiculous. Some are made up.

I chatted with this gal from Woodward earlier this week who told me that there was a naked woman at the Elks golf tournament in Woodward. It was such a crazy notion, I thought for sure she was mistaken. Really? Naked lady? Golf tournament?

Oh yes, my friends. Oh yes.

Turns out, a woman stripped naked during the golf tournament last month. Yikes.

I’ve gotten the most hilarious emails today. I’d like to share my favorite:

I would think that an on the ball newspaper reporter would have secured a picture of the naked woman to put in the paper. It not only would have increased readership, but provided invaluable publicity for “The Oklahoman.” Ha! I didn’t realize Woodward had so many prudes. Don’t they realize the temperatures have been very hot lately?
