The Occupy OKC folks have left Kerr Park after accomplishing all kinds of measurable, finite goals. Their frustrations were clearly laid as, as evidence by this photo one of our photographers took. OK, we’re not really sure what their goals were, so there wasn’t really a way to track if they were successful. However, there sure is a way to track how they’ve affected the city. The Oklahoma City Police Department sent out info today about how much they spent keeping watch over the protest.

Occupy OKC organizers set up in Kerr Park located at Robert S. Kerr and Broadway on October 7, 2011. The Oklahoma City Police Department’s costs to date associated with the protest have been:

1,674 hours of on-duty time totaling – $63,595

362 hours of overtime totaling – $20,630

Total = 2,036 hours / $84,225

These numbers represent the total expenditures for the Oklahoma City Police Department. They do not reflect services provided by other City departments or State agencies.

At least they caused some kind of financial change in the city. Apparently they wanted to redirect public funds to public safety, as opposed to the poor or people in need. There you have it.
