Christmas Connection wraps up shopping for families in Oklahoma City

More than 1,000 parents got to pick out presents for more than 2,000 children last week because of Christmas Connection in south Oklahoma City. If you haven’t heard of Christmas Connection, they’re pretty fantastic. I volunteered with them last year and wrote a column about it. It was an amazing experience. Great blog and as the Uncle in this family I couldn't be more proud of what Nate and Wanda started and what Curt, Rhonda, Kelly and Theresa have continued to do on behalf of so many who find hope through the generosity of so many who support and volunteer at the Christmas Connection.

Carrie Coppernoll is a columnist and reporter. She was named the top personal columnist in Oklahoma in 2009 and 2010 by the Associated Press and Association of Newspaper Editors. She was also named the 2008 Journalist of the Year by the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

She is a graduate of the Leadership Oklahoma City LOYAL program. She earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas. Before interning at The Oklahoman, she worked at The Baxter Bulletin in her hometown of Mountain Home, Ark.
