If either of you watch our facebook posts, then you’re aware that we did very well during the Great Plains Journalism Awards banquet on Saturday night in Tulsa. Instead of passing out First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention, the Tulsa Press Club, who organized the awards, recognize only Finalists and Winners. Photographers from The Oklahoman were named winners in all but one category. Over the next week or so, we’ll take another look at some of the winning pictures and write about the circumstances that led up to the award winning photograph. In the meantime, here are a few of the pictures that we took over the last week.
