Hundreds of people gathered on the first floor of the Oklahoma State Capitol to pay their respects to civil rights activist Clara Luper. In addition to creating a photo gallery featuring pictures from the event, we asked people in attendance to talk about the impact Luper made on their lives and lessons they learned from her. Click here to watch a slideshow of their answers and get a glimpse of the influence Luper has had on others since leading sit-in protests at Katz Drug Store in Oklahoma City.

Luper’s funeral is set for Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11AM.
