Police: Oklahoma State football player's dogs not neglected or abused

Police said two dogs owned by an Oklahoma State University football player have been evaluated and were not abused or neglected, according to The Stillwater NewsPress.

Police Capt. Randy Dickerson said the owner, Shamiel Gary, voluntarily took his two boxers to see a vet who determined one dog to be healthy. The other is in need of treatment for an underlying condition not due to neglect or abuse, the paper reports.

Gary was accused of neglecting his two boxer dogs by a former neighbor who said she saw a pattern of disregard for his dogs.
