Judges name new Oklahoma County special judge

Prosecutor Susan Johnson is the newest member of the Oklahoma County bench, beating out three other candidates for the position of special judge, The Oklahoman has learned.

Johnson, an assistant district attorney and former prosecutor with the state attorney general's office, was appointed Friday by the county's 15 district judges to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Stephen P. Alcorn.

The other finalists were defense attorneys Myong Chung, Jerry Day and Kevin McCray. The finalists were selected from 53 applicants.
