Help state's needy by asking for more from the rich

Published: March 9, 2013

“GOP legislators' bills target programs for state's needy” (News, March 4) begins by saying that Republican legislators are looking for ways to tighten the state's budget belt and score points with an increasingly conservative electorate. To accomplish these objectives, they've decided to cut the help we've been giving to the hungry, the ragged, the sick and the homeless. Surely we can find some way to raise money other than taking food out of the mouths of the hungry. One idea that comes to mind is asking more from the millionaires and billionaires.
