Opponents of gun regulation say a gun is just an implement, like a knife or a screwdriver, and that it can be used for either good or evil. True. I spent nearly 10 years teaching in Hong Kong, which has some of the strictest gun laws in the world. There's plenty of violence, most of it between Chinese drug gangs. The weapon of choice is the meat cleaver; a coked-up gangbanger can do a lot of damage with one of those things. But I never heard of some kid being killed by a stray meat cleaver.
