Cleveland County reserve deputies to graduate

Eighteen people are scheduled to graduate: Christopher Alexander, Bobby Harris, Kyle Keller, Stacy Lancaster, Phillip McIntosh, Todd Russell, James Steenburg, Rick Von Holt, Lee White, Michael Haines, Timothy Cook, Toni Mines, Jason Babbitt, Doug Kilmer, Nehemiah Hanson, Caleb Dickey, Aaron McBride and Joseph Smith.

The academy began in September. Cadets have spent five months learning the responsibilities and duties assigned to deputies.

Cleveland County sheriff's office reserve deputies provide manpower for special assignments and support patrol operations when needed.

Sheriff Joe Lester said this reserve class has done an exceptional job completing the academy.

“Each cadet has agreed to volunteer his or her time to serve and protect the citizens of Cleveland County,” Lester said. “I appreciate their service and commitment to the county.”
