Fort Gibson advanced to the Class 4A championship game with a 52-35 victory over Cushing on Friday.
Fort Gibson's Brooke Palmer dominated, posting a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
“I just went out there and tried to do what I do,” Palmer said. “Being a senior, I embrace the role of being the go-to player for my team. I like having that pressure to come through for my team.”
Trailing 24-11 at halftime, Cushing climbed back into the game with a third-quarter surge that cut the Fort Gibson lead to six. But in the fourth quarter, Fort Gibson was too strong, outscoring Cushing 21-10 to secure its spot in Saturday's championship game.
“We already can't for Saturday night,” Palmer said. “This win was great, but we're ready to go get that championship.”
Fort Gibson will face Mount St. Mary at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at State Fair Arena.
