SXSW 2013: A Guide to Oklahoma Music; When and Where

Music festival season has arrived! As you may have read in the last issue, Editor George Lang announced that a handful of us from LOOKatOKC will be attending the 20th annual South by South West (SXSW) this year for a very important reason; it is absolutely necessary that we get down there and get in the middle of all of the action. More and more Oklahomans flock to Austin for Spring Break each and every year, and Austin is beginning to notice that the Oklahoma music scene is quite competitive with theirs. If you have an iPhone or an Android you should be able to download the official app with guides to tons of events– music, film, interactive, you name it.

I applaud these musicians who have made it onto an official SXSW showcase, as this year we will have more than eighty talented musicians representing this great state. Oklahomans are making an impact on this magical spring festival, a place where anything can happen. I’m here to give you the guide that isn’t going to show up in your handy-dandy application: One hundred percent Oklahoman. I did not include many of Oklahoma Film & Music’s Buffalo Lounge schedule, it can be found by following them on Twitter @sxswbuffalo. Make this venue your home base.
