Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian David McCullough will speak at the Library Endowment Trust's 11th annual Literary Voices dinner April 18 at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.

McCullough is perhaps best known for his books “1776” and “John Adams,” which was adapted into an award-winning miniseries by HBO. He also narrated Ken Burns' documentary “The Civil War.”

McCullough, who also spoke Monday at the University of Oklahoma as part of a lecture series on the Great Depression and World War II, has been called a master of the art of narrative history.

He also hosted “Smithsonian World” and “The American Experience,” and was the narrator in the popular film “Seabiscuit.”

His most recent book is “The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris.”

McCullough will be introduced at the dinner by Chickasaw Nation Gov. Bill Anoatubby. Tickets are $275 per person to attend the dinner.

The dinner benefits the Library Endowment Trust, which funds services and programs at the Metropolitan Library System. Also at the event, Lee Brawner will receive the Metropolitan Library System's Lifetime Achievement Award.
