Daniel Orton, Blake Griffin photo from high school
Look at these pups! Adorable! And then they both got technical fouls for mouthing off.
I found this photo while digging around in The Oklahoman‘s archives. Here’s the story that goes with this photo:

It was mere seconds into the boys basketball game between Class 4A’s top-ranked McGuinness and Class 2A’s top-ranked Oklahoma Christian School.McGuinness forward Michael Sosanya missed a layup, and teammate Daniel Orton came flying in for a powerful follow-up dunk and personal statement: I may be only a sophomore, but I’ve arrived.
Orton’s dunk sparked McGuinness to a 52-41 win over OCS in an emotional, state tournament-like atmosphere before an estimated 3,500 fans at McGuinness High School on Friday night.
Orton was outstanding for the Irish, scoring 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field. He grabbed eight rebounds and recorded four blocks.
“He’s growing up,” McGuinness coach Tondrell Durham said. “He was being aggressive, and that’s what we like to see from him.”
The 6-foot-9 sophomore, who is the little brother of former Oklahoma State and McGuinness standout Terrence Crawford, was playing to prove his name belongs among the state’s top players.
