Water is low, but Canton making do

CANTON -- Even with a substantial drain on their lake's water supply, members of the Canton Lake Association are working on improvements.

The Enid News & Eagle reports that the association, with assistance from several sources, is moving ahead.

There even is an extension to one of the boat docs that allows launching of fishing boats.

Work is under way to extend the boat ramp at the Canadian day-use ramp so small boats can be launched. And, if the water level should rise a foot or two, they're back in business.

Canton Lake's level decreased significantly when water was released to reach Oklahoma City's drought-plagued water supply at Lake Hefner.
