Hospitality club to honor 10 women who make a difference
A local club is celebrating 90 years of service to the community by honoring 10 women who have made a difference in the lives of others through their careers and community service. The Oklahoma Hospitality Club, which formed in 1923, will host is 47th Ladies in the News luncheon and style show from Ruth Meyers at noon April 12 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, 7000 NW Grand Blvd. The theme is “Reclaiming the Past, Rewriting the Future.”
Honorees, who are also the style show models, are Victoria Ann Bartlett, Tulsa; Janie Kimball Comstock, Marsha Funk, Lu Garrison, all of Oklahoma City; Samia Harroz, Norman; Darcie Henderson, Yukon; Jonna D. Kauger Kirschner, Nichols Hills; and Pat McFall, Cindi Shelby and Dr. Jeanetta Sims, all of Edmond. Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Yvonne Kauger is honorary honoree and Estela Hernandez is mistress of ceremony. Proceeds fund grants for nonprofit agencies that are chosen by a membership vote.
This year's grants will go to The Children's Center of Bethany and the Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled, Inc.

OKC Metro Alliance to celebrate 40 years with luncheon
OKC Metro Alliance Inc. is celebrating 40 years of service in the recovery community. The organization will host a fundraising luncheon at noon on April 25 at the Christian Life Center at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15 Street. The keynote speaker for the event will be Rita A. Aragon, Major General (retired); she is the current Secretary of Military and Veterans Affairs for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
