New Flaming Lips: “Silver Trembling Hands”

The Flaming Lips recently posted two tracks from the forthcoming double CD Embryonic on their MySpace page, “Convinced of the Hex” and “Silver Trembling Hands,” and they signal the band’s renewed love affair with noisy fuzztones and delicious atonality. The mid-period Floydian sound of “Silver Trembling Hands” is the most easily embraced of the two, but both tracks pay healthy dividends — get on board now.

George Lang was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Houston and Tulsa. Following graduation from Jenks High School, Lang spent time in the military before studying journalism at the University of Oklahoma.
Beginning in 1994, Lang covered crime stories and local media, culminating in coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing and the many stories surrounding that tragedy. By the late 1990s, Lang's focus shifted to fine arts, features and popular culture, ultimately leading to his current position as assistant entertainment editor for The Oklahoman and editor of LOOKatOKC.
