I’m a problem sleeper anyway, but for the first two weeks following Sept. 11, 2001, I slept little. My wife would go upstairs, and I’d lie there on the couch, freaking out. When I did fall asleep, I would have horrible dreams, the nightmarish stuff of which I don’t really like to talk about.

George Lang was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Houston and Tulsa. Following graduation from Jenks High School, Lang spent time in the military before studying journalism at the University of Oklahoma.
Beginning in 1994, Lang covered crime stories and local media, culminating in coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing and the many stories surrounding that tragedy. By the late 1990s, Lang's focus shifted to fine arts, features and popular culture, ultimately leading to his current position as assistant entertainment editor for The Oklahoman and editor of LOOKatOKC.
His blog, StaticBlog, was one of the first blogs on NewsOK.com. He his wife have one son, and they currently live in Oklahoma City.
