Trailer: “Pacific Rim”

Guillermo Del Toro is “canceling the apocalypse,” as Idris Elba announces in this impressive first look at “Pacific Rim,” an alien apocalypse movie to end all alien apocalypse movies — well, not end them exactly, since we’ve got “Oblivion” with which to content. Del Toro never disappoints, and given that he’s cast much of “Pacific Rim” from the ranks of FX, including Charlie Day of “Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and Ron Perlman and Charlie Hunnam from “Sons of Anarchy,” there’s some strong alt-TV blood in this thing. It’s SAMCRO vs. the aliens, and I feel good betting on SAMCRO.
