— Max White scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Oklahoma baseball team a 3-2 win over TCU in the Sooners' Big 12 Conference opener on Friday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

OU junior Matt Oberste doubled in the 12th to extend his hitting streak to 27 consecutive games, dating to the 2012 campaign. The streak ties him with Marty Neff (1991) for the longest in program history. Oberste also has reached base safely in 31 straight games dating to 2012.

The 16th-ranked Sooners (20-4, 1-0 Big 12) ran their winning streak to eight games and posted their fifth walkoff win of the season by beating the Horned Frogs (9-12, 1-3).

OU's Ethan Carnes tossed a perfect top of the 12th to improve his record to 1-1. Sooner starter Jonathan Gray matched his career high of 12 strikeouts while allowing three hits and two runs, one earned, in nine innings on the mound.

White opened the 12th a base hit up the middle, then went to third on Oberste's double to left-center. After junior catcher Dylan Neal drew an intentional walk, White scampered home on a passed ball to win it.

The series continues at 2 p.m. Saturday.
